About Our Practice - BackgroundA little about our practice history... In 1998 we moved our office from 5893 Main Street, across from Williamsville South High School, to our present location at Suite 5 at 6636 Main St. This relocation was to accomplish several things, but primarily to help us develop excellent clinical space. We were able to create an efficient and very hygienic clinic environment. The windows bring in lots of natural light which generally brighten our days. Our practice had been located at 5893 Main St. since it was begun in 1953 by Dr. Robert Evans. His father-in-law and a general dentist, Dr. Lester Lapp, had his home office at that address and he encouraged Dr. Evans to build an addition to the building and open his orthodontic practice there. He did just that and in 1968, Dr. Barry Wood, who was returning from an Air Force commitment in 1968, joined the practice and a partnership was born. In 1979, Dr. Patrignani joined the practice following graduation from the SUNY at Buffalo Orthodontic Program. Shortly thereafter, Dr. Evans decided to retire. In 1981, Dr. Kohout graduated from the Loyola Dental School Orthodontic Program and returned to Buffalo. He joined the practice, and we became a group of three orthodontists: Drs. Wood, Patrignani & Kohout. Our office was one of only two multi-doctor orthodontic offices in New York State in which all of the doctors were Board Certified. We were a three-doctor practice until Dr. Wood retired in 1998. At that time we decided to continue as a two doctor practice and move our office to a brand new office with all new equipment, including computerized management and clinical software. That is how we settled in at 6636 Main St. Suite 5 in Williamsville, New York. |
